Environment and Rural Development Program

 

Since July 2005, (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit) GTZ is implementing the Environment, Natural Resource Management and Rural Development (EnRD) program in selected provinces, municipalities and barangays particularly on the islands of Leyte, Samar, Panay and Negros, in cooperation with the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and selected Local Government Units (LGUs).

The German assistance consists of advisory services, studies, pilot projects on technical and institutional issues and capacity building for national, regional government agencies, LGUs and People’s Organizations (POs).

The ENRD Program seeks to strengthen the capacity of key Government Agencies at the national, regional and provincial levels. LGUs and People’s Organizations to plan and implement natural resources management and sustainable rural development interventions.

The project duration is from July 2005 and extended up to June 2014.
