|Climate-relevant Modernization of Forest Policy and Piloting of REDD|
The Climate-Related Modernization of National Forest Policy and Piloting REDD (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation) Measures in the Philippines is a project made possible through a grant from German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) whose objective is to reduce greenhouse gases by improving climate-related forest policy.
The project aims at the development of an improved forest policy and of specific incentives for avoided deforestation, for forest protection and rehabilitation, and for conservation of biodiversity.
The project duration is from October 2009 – March 2013 and is being implemented in some selected protected areas in Leyte and Panay Islands in the Philippines.
